1. Shoulder and Neck Rolls

Start by releasing any rigidity. Lara softly moves her shoulders both backward and forward, then tilts her head side to side to release tension.

Often felt tight after a night of rest, this stage is ideal for getting blood flowing to the upper body.

2. Cat-Cow Stretch

Lara enjoys the yoga-inspired action. She alternates on all fours between arching her back upward (like a terrified cat) and dipping it down (like a cow) to elongate the spine. Key to releasing the spine and increasing mobility is this exercise.

3. Forward Fold with a twist.

Lara stands with feet hip-width apart and bends forward letting her arms hang and softly swing side to side.

She twists then, stretching one hand to the ceiling to stretch her spine and work her core. For everyone experiencing morning tightness, this twist feels great and helps the body awaken.

4. Hip Openers:

To open the hips, she spends some time on lunges and hip circles. Hip openers are a terrific way to start your morning since many of us sit lot during the day. These stretches appeal to Lara as both relaxing and energising.
