The lead actress of the hit movie “Office Romance,” Emma Scott, achieved a remarkable 5 kg weight loss in just three weeks by swapping out rice for kelp noodles (cheonsachae).
According to a popular women’s magazine, Emma minimized seasoning in her noodle dishes to keep her calorie intake in check. Along with kelp noodles, her daily diet typically included chicken breast, tofu, yogurt, and plenty of green vegetables. After successfully shedding 5 kg, Emma shared four fundamental principles that helped her manage her weight:
- The key is to eat in moderation—avoid overeating or depriving your body by fasting.
- Opt for as many low-calorie foods as possible.
- Slow down while eating and take small bites.
- Stop eating when you feel slightly full. Avoid overeating at all costs.
Kelp noodles, made from seaweed, are carb-free and fat-free, making them low in calories but rich in essential minerals. According to the magazine, 100 grams of kelp noodles contain only about 30 calories, making them an ideal rice substitute that helps you feel full while supporting weight loss. These noodles are not only rich in minerals and vitamins but also packed with fiber, which aids in digestion.
Iodine, found in kelp, is a crucial component of thyroid hormones, which are vital for regulating your metabolic rate. A moderate intake of iodine can enhance metabolism, enabling the body to burn fat more efficiently. An increased metabolic rate allows the body to burn more calories even at rest, promoting weight loss and reducing fat storage. Additionally, kelp contains antioxidants that help combat inflammation, thereby aiding in weight control and slowing the aging process.
