Ariana’s Yoga Flow: Stretching Your Way to Calm

Ariana rolls out her yoga mat and meditates deeply first thing in every day. Her dedication to yoga seeks tranquilly rather than only flexibility. She explains gently, “Yoga is my way of reconnecting with myself,” as she relaxes into a mild child’s posture. “This is my moment to let go of tension and simply live in the present.

Her daily yoga program starts with basic stretches. I enjoy beginning with cat-cow positions. As Ariana moves elegantly through the exercises, it warms my spine and gets my body going. She stresses the need of going gently and paying attention to your body. “It’s about finding what feels good for you rather than about doing the perfect pose.”

She stretches farther—downward dog and warrior postures among other things—after the warm-up. “These poses help me release tension and strengthen,” Ariana says. “It opens up my hips, where I tend to hold a lot of stress,” she says of her preferred pigeon stance.

Ariana usually ends her session with some time for meditation. “Stillness even five minutes may make a big difference. She says with a happy smile, “It brings a sense of calm that stays with me all day.”

She exhorts everyone—regardless of their degree of experience—to try yoga. “Yoga is for everyone.” You are not need to be very flexible. It’s about discovering your own flow and gently extending towards peace.
