Masan Group’s Q2 Profit Surges Amid Business Growth

Masan Group, a prominent conglomerate, announced a post-tax profit of VND946 billion ($38 million) for the second quarter, marking a 2.2-fold increase compared to the same period last year. This significant rise in profit was attributed to robust performance across its core businesses and a reduction in debts, as stated in their press release.

The company’s revenues grew by 8.2%, reaching VND20.1 trillion, with key subsidiaries demonstrating strong growth. Masan Consumer Corporation, known for its seasoning products and beverages, experienced a 14% increase in sales, totaling VND7.39 trillion.

WinCommerce, the operator of Winmart retail stores, reported a 9.2% growth in revenues, amounting to VND7.84 trillion. This growth was driven by the introduction of new store formats such as WIN and Winmart+ Rural stores.

The group expanded its retail footprint, adding 40 new stores this year, bringing the total to 3,673 stores nationwide.

Phuc Long Heritage, a beverage chain under the group, saw its revenues rise by 5.3% to VND391 billion. Masan highlighted their cautious expansion strategy, with four new stores opened in the first half of this year, bringing the total number of Phuc Long stores to 163.
